  How to Find Funding:

Objective: To assist faculty and staff in searching for funding and promoting research, the Office of Research Development has created an e-learning overview course of how to find funding opportunities. Instruction includes how to register and search for grant opportunities using the Community of Science (COS) and Grants.gov.

Intended Audience: Administrative and other support staff, faculty and graduate students involved in the administration of research, training or other sponsored projects funded by extramural sources.

Grants.gov Search Tools - To access the presentation you may view the complete grants.gov search tools course which includes all modules or view the individual modules below.

Basic Search - This module leads you through the Basic Search function in grants.gov. Basic search allows users to search by keyword, Funding Opportunity Number (FON) or Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number.

Browse by Category - This module introduces you to the browse by category search function in grants.gov. The browse by category search allows users to search by a variety of categories of funding activities, such as environment, health, education, food and nutrition, etc.

Browse by Agency - This module shows you how to use the browse by agency function in grants.gov. The browse by agency search allows users to search from a list of agencies offering grant opportunities including all 26 federal grant making agencies.
